WELCOME...

Thank you for visiting our newly "revised and updated" website.  It's been a long time in the making.

Please enjoy the various pages, which are designed to reflect upon, and to archive, some of the magical music moments in Atlanta, GA from the late 1960's, the 1970's, and continuing on for several years to follow.

In those specific earlier years, the prevalent musical format was often referred to as "album oriented rock" (AOR), and was generally only given airplay on a few select  Atlanta radio stations, such WPLO-FM, and two college stations, WREK-FM and WRAS-FM.

There was no internet then, no websites, no music videos, no MTV... only shows like American Bandstand,  the Ed Sullivan Show, or Hulabaloo, none of which regularly screened nor programmed AOR artists.  Seeing your favorite entertainers really meant you had to go and see them "live in person, on stage."

It might be mentioned that this genre of music within the entertainment industry, was basically in its infancy stage of development, just beginning to grow, with no pre-defined set of rules nor guidelines, and with no known limitations.

Bands from all regions of the US, as well as many areas of England, made their way into various studios to record albums of their music, worked with record company promotion departments to get radio airplay, and then endeavored to set up touring schedules to coincide with the success of their lp releases.

Many of these entertainers got started by playing multiple night engagements in small rooms and nightclubs across the US and Great Britain. The culture grew, as did their popularity, thereby increasing the size of their fan bases.

So, came the "springboard" that would see many entertainers performing in larger and larger venues as time progressed...  going from nightclubs to ballrooms, to theatres and auditoriums, to arenas, and ultimately to festivals and stadiums.

Included here, in some degree of chronological order, there are many years of my memorable entertainment events, musical experiences, concert promotions, nightclubs operations, festival productions, artist booking & management, and a wealth of wonderful personal interactions.

Thanks to all the musicians, the industry personnel, and to all the music fans, who attended the concerts and performances. My kindest regards to all of those who were associates along this journey to bring the best quality of entertainment to the area.
